New Name and a New Leash on Life –

Humphrey (formerly Cookie) is an owner surrender, and he’s about to have his life turned around. You see, Humphrey has spent the first five years of his life on the end of a chain, outside.
His owner’s contacted Forgotten Dogs Rescue, Richland, WA, to surrender him because they wanted something better for him.

Within three days, he’s had a bath, gotten neutered and he is on his way to Coyote Ridge Corrections Center where he will take part of the Ridge Dog program. Ridge Dogs are sent to Coyote Ridge and trained by prison inmates. When Humphrey graduates, he will know all the basic commands and also receive his Canine Good Citizen certification.

Hopefully all of this will help him find his forever home, where he will be part of a family and not chained outside in the yard.

Stay tuned, I hope to have Humphrey’s graduation photo posted soon as well as other Ridge Dog’s photos.
