Tucker and Charlie Need Homes

This week I had two separate photo shoots of dogs that are in foster homes while waiting for their forever homes. I met both dogs and their fosters at Howard Amon Park in Richland, WA, the lighting is perfect for photos in the early evening. First up was Tucker and 8 month old Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Australian Cattle dog mix..   A few nights later I met up with Charlie Brown and his foster mom. Charlie is quite timid, he most likely was abused at some point, he has really come a long way. Charlie’s a Chihuahua/Corgi mix.  He really is a sweetheart once he gets to know you and loves going to the dog park for play time. Both of these dogs are available through Mikey’s Chance Canine Rescue on Petfinder.com

Abby & Gracey

This weekend I met Abby, a 7 month old Rhodesian Ridgeback and Gracey, a Papillon. This was the first time I’ve ever met either of these breeds and they both set wonderful examples of the breeds. I pet-sat them this weekend and we had a great time! Gracie was quite unsure of the camera and I only got a few shots of her, as it turns out, this photo I took of her has become my new favorite and I’ve added it to my portfolio.

Then there was Abby who was totally into having her photos taken, of course with a little help of my special bait treats!

Babe, Looking for a Forever Home

Yesterday I was contacted by Mikey’s Chance Canine Rescue, asking if I could photograph a dog named Babe. Babe’s previous owner dumped Babe in a Pasco neighborhood (this was witnessed), he was extremely malnourished, luckily  a lovely couple started to look out for him and feed him. It took awhile but, his very patient foster mom was able to earn his trust, it’s apparent that Babe’s previous owner had abused him as well. He is extremely timid especially around men, although he is slowly coming around. He is a quiet gentleman, never barks or growls and silently sticks by his foster mom’s side and sleeps by her bedside at night. He was a wonderful model for my photos and was taking cheese ever so gently from my hands. He is full grown at around 25 lbs. and beautiful to look at, he is being neutered today. Anyone interested in adopting Babe, please contact Mikey’s Chance Canine Rescue, Kennewick WA,  at Petfinder.com.

Pets needing new homes, sadly it never ends. Here are just a few pets looking for their forever homes that I had the pleasure of photographing last week.

Senior Photos!

My step-daughter was in town from Montana last week, so we went out and found some pretty cool places to take some senior photos. I have to admit, I had a really fun time doing these photos, now I’m kinda re-thinking this “I only shoot pets” rule. I’m seriously considering booking some senior photo sessions! Also, I can’t wait to shoot some dog photos in the cool locations I found.

Enjoyed all the pictures. Favorite was last one – on chair w/hat. Thought first one was terrific w/that color scheme.

Thanks Lindsay. Yes, the brick wall ones are the pump house. There’s also a garage door on the other side. Also, that chippy red bench is on the bike path on the hill directly behind the pump-house. You need to go there!
